Who We Are
Incorporated on February 27, 2003, the Community First Health Co-op was first created by a group of concerned citizens with the goal of enhancing and supporting local health care services. The CFHC is a thriving organization dedicated to supporting comprehensive local health services for all members of our communities.
Mission
The mission of the Community First Health Co-op is to enhance the health and wellness of communities, families, and individuals by providing services through a co-operative partnership of consumers and health service providers.
Vision
The Community First Health Co-op has a vision for Nelson and Area as healthy communities where people have equal opportunities for good health.
Values
The Community First Health Co-op’s strategies, policies, and organizational relationships will be based on the following values:

The Growth of the Co-op’s Future
The Health Co-op has come a long way since 2002. We are incorporated as a Community Service Co-operative and are focusing our efforts to ensure the health and wellness of our community.
Services that the Co-op could contribute:
- home support for community residents;
- chronic disease management and support;
- community care teams focused on vision, nutrition, hearing, speech, and dental health;
- supportive living programs;
- affordable housing;
- health education series for the public;
- other health and wellness initiatives.

Low-Cost Dental
The West Kootenay Community TEETH Clinic Society is a non-profit organization able to offer low-cost dental services to low-income individuals and their families.
Seniors Programs
Mission: To provide direct goods and services to seniors and disadvantaged people in an affordable way to support their dignity and quality of life.
InspireHealth
Since 1997, we have provided programs and services to enhance quality of life, health, and well-being of people living with cancer and their families.
